How I use industrial design to create meaningful change.
Humankind’s destiny is shrouded in uncertainty, mired in the norms and technologies of the past. However, bold ideas can change our notion of what’s possible and reveal a path forward. These types of ideas aren’t realized on their own, we have to manifest them through concepts, prototypes and products.
I’m an industrial designer, which means that I operate at the intersection of technology and the humanities. A vantage point that enables me to identify opportunities for change. While my experiences leading teams have helped me construct a framework to leverage those opportunities into sustainable strategies.
I see a path forward for a fantastical future; It’s my mission to help us get there.
Using Strategic Innovation

As humankind’s tenure on planet Earth evolves, the systems we’ve created continue to become increasingly complex and hyper-competitive. Be it social, technological, economic, environmental or political systems, strategic innovation offers an avenue to be proactive about change. Strategic innovation takes a systems-level approach to value creation by understanding the business, technological and human aspects of complex unstructured challenges.
I’ve learned to appreciate this methodology along my career path. My journey began at UC Irvine’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering, where I learned how to make products. At ArtCenter College of Design, I learned to how to make the right products. And at Drucker School of Management, I learned how to operate in systems. Strategic innovation only happens with a compelling human need, the technological capability to fulfill it, and an appropriate business context to deploy it.
